Meet the Team
Megan Mueller - My husband Ryan and I recently relocated to Norfolk after the birth of our daugher Logyn. This is my 8th year in education and my first year with Norfolk Public Schools. I have spend the last seven years working as an elementary resource teacher. I recently earned my masters degree in Special Education with a specialization in Autism and Severe Disabilities from the University of Nebraska. It has been very rewarding to get to know the students in the LIFE program and to help them to be included and participate meaningfully with their peers at Westside Elementary. I look forward to the times ahead and watching them work, learn, and grow.
Shelly Austin - I have lived my entire life in Norfolk and my husband and I think it's a great place to raise our two daughters.
I started my career with NPS in 2007 working at Westside in the ELL classroom. After 3 years, I decided to utilize my Early Childhood degree and I worked at a daycare with 3-4 year olds. After the birth of my first child, I decided to come back to NPS and worked in the LIFE room at the Middle School and also the Senior High. After hearing of the elementary program moving to Westside, I was excited at the opportunity to return back to where I originally started.
Cheryl Ralston - I have worked in the Life Room for the past 40 years and it has been such a rewarding experience. All the children I have had the privilege to work with over the years have brought so much love and joy to my life. I am looking forward to our first year at Westside with our Life Program. I know all our kids are excited to meet new friends at their new school.
Sara Jones - I grew up in Madison, NE and moved to Norfolk shortly after graduating high school and lived here ever since. For the last 9 years I ran a day care out of my home so I could be home with my 2 sons. When my youngest son started Kindergarten I decided I wanted to get out of the house but still work with kids. Working at Westside has been such a wonderful experience for me. Looking forward to a new school year of learning and making memories!
